Key Furniture Dimensions
To determine if your furniture will fit, you’ll need the height (H), width (W), and depth (D) of the item. You can find the exact measurements of our furniture on its product page under the section labeled “dimensions”.
Please note that the overall dimensions provided include the full height of the item, including any cushions, especially in cases where the cushions are taller than the frame or extend beyond the seat. For items where cushions are taller than the frame or where the legs are shipped detached, the box dimensions may be smaller than the overall dimensions, as the legs are considered part of the total size of the item once assembled.
Please note that your furniture may be delivered boxed or unboxed, and the delivery team will determine your best option depending on the delivery path of your space. To ensure a proper fit, we suggest adding an additional 3”-6” to the item's overall dimensions to also account for the item’s packaging as well the hands of the delivery team as they maneuver it into your desired room.
Will it Fit Through Your Door?
Make sure you know the width and height of your front door. You’ll also want to open your door as wide as possible, then measure from the outer edge of the door to the inner edge of the doorframe at its narrowest point, keeping doorknobs in mind. If the doors can be removed, that might be a good idea to prevent damages.
Tip: Allow 1-1.5” of additional clearance for the hands of the delivery team. Furniture will not fit if the width of the furniture exceeds the doorframe clearance and height or if the doorframe width is smaller than the furniture’s height, width, or depth.
Navigating Stairs
Measure the narrowest point of the staircase - including handrails - as well as the height from the top and bottom steps to the ceiling. Make sure the stairway width is greater than the item’s depth or height, plus an extra few inches for maneuvering. For stairway landings, stairwells, and turns, ensure they’re wide and deep enough for the item and the delivery team.
Tip: Protect your bannisters with blankets. The delivery team cannot safely lift furniture over handrails.
Will it Fit in The Elevator?
It’s essential that you measure not only the interior of the elevator, but also the door openings themselves. Measure the elevator door height, width, and the depth, as well as the diagonal measurements from the bottom of the doors to the back upper corner of the elevator. Make sure there’s enough space for both the item and the delivery person to maneuver.
Tip: Check if personal elevator access is available in apartment buildings for smoother delivery.
Other Obstacles To Consider
Measure any hallways and internal doors your furniture will need to pass through, and ensure they are wider than the item’s depth or height. The internal door height should be taller than the furniture’s width if it needs to be carried horizontally.
Account for any low-hanging ceiling lamps or fans, hanging art, breakable decorations that can’t be removed, stairway banisters, tight turns, narrow paths, low ceilings and partial walls.
Don’t forget to measure the area around the entry point you plan to take your furniture in. Be aware of gates, porches, flower beds, and even the lobby of your building.
Preparing The Delivery Path
For a smooth and safe delivery, it’s required that all walkways and pathways are completely clear of any obstructions. This includes removing shoes, children’s toys, furniture, rugs, or anything else that could hinder the delivery team's movement or create a tripping hazard. We recommend creating more space than you think is necessary to allow the team to safely maneuver your furniture into place.
Ensure the delivery vehicle can park close to your property and that there are no parking restrictions or step access issues.
Protect surfaces, such as banisters, by wrapping them in blankets or foam.
